FANTASIA LATINA FOLKLORIC BALLET
Fantasia Latina Folkloric Ballet is the dancing group of the Latin American Cultural Association (LACA Inc) of Western Australia. This group was formed in 1992 and incorporated in 1993.
Since its beginning, the group has been keeping the traditional dancing of Latin American Folklore alive in WA.
The group has been under the direction of Bianca Liberona, originally from Chile, since 2009. Bianca has extensive experience as a dancer and Choreographer. Her aim is to achieve the highest possible artistic standard in presenting Latin American traditional dances, by blending traditional folklore with contemporary styles.
Fantasia Latina promotes and showcases the great diversity of Latin American dances. The group continuously researches the different dancing styles from the traditional folkloric to the contemporary and popular expression of Latin American dancing.
The group also explores the traditional values of Latin American dances (richness, spontaneity, temperament, passion, spirituality and sensuality) and shapes a new contemporary style that fosters and develops all attributes of Latin American dance.
Fantasia Latina has taken part in many important productions such as: Latin Legends at the Burswood Theatre in WA, Origines Latinos at the Octagon Theatre, OZ concert, Harmony Concert, Carnaval Latino which is part of the Festival of Perth and Latin Extravaganza, part of the Festival of Fremantle, just to name few events. Fantasia Latina has also traveled annually to Melbourne since 2007 to be part of the Chilean Latin American September Festival.
The group will be performing again this year showcasing a new repertoire of Latin American dances including Easter Island and Polynesia.
Until then J
Best Regards,
Bianca Liberona
