Murga del Centro
Murga del Centro' was created early this year, it is a group of adults and young children who perform Argentinean Murga.
What is Murga?
Murga is a popular form of folk theatrical-dancing expression performed in some countries of SouthAmerica. Historically, Murga has been offered throughout the Carnival period, but today is not only restricted to this festivity. This artistic activity mixes music, dance, theatre, juggling, poetry, humor, improvisation and social critic.
Their performance consists on a musical play offering a suite of songs and recitative along with a specific choreographed dance, juggling and percussionists playing live. They dress in colourful, jester-like costumes, high hats and capes, all adorned with sequins and beading work.
