Peruvian Floklore
Established in 1974, Melbourne, Australia, the "Peruvian Folkloric Dance Group of Victoria" is proudly one of the longest and most respected Latin American Dance Groups in Australia.
For the past 30 years, our dance group has been passionately showcasing the colorful, vibrant & many diverse dances of our magnificent Peru.
We have taken part in many well-known events throughout the years such as Moomba, Federation Square, The Arts Centre, Ventana Latina, Monash University Spanish Radio Launch, Moonee Valley Festival, La Plaza Del Mercado and many more numerous Multicultural, Latin Festivals and Fund-raising events throughout Victoria. More recently we have performed at Zona Roja events at Copacabana and some of our memorable performance includes the Canonization of Mary MacKillop at the Melbourne Exhibition Buildings and the Championship Title from the Spanish Fiesta.
Our repertoire includes dances from all regions of Peru including the Andes, the Coast & the Amazon as well as dances inspired by our Inca, African & European heritage. Our beautifully handcrafted traditional costumes, live percussion music and talented dancers add to a truly authentic and unforgettable Peruvian cultural experience in every one of our performances.
Our Dance group is evolving into an exciting new era where the interpretation of traditional Peruvian music is now taking on a modern and innovative flavor, whilst still maintaining our traditional heritage.
The Peruvian Folklore Dance Group is available for performances at public & private functions.
If you are interested in experiencing this truly cultural experience at your next event, please contact Elizabeth Green on 0401 391 425 or Angela Barra on 0419 305 977 for booking details or visit our fan page on Facebook.
We are proud to be a long term participant and friend of the Chilean community festivities.
